Welcome!

Georgia Southern University has commenced a master plan process that will assist the University in physically translating its academic mission and strategic vision through a data-driven, collaborative approach. The master plan will be a flexible guide for future development, focusing on the University's needs over the next 30 years, and envisioning how the campus should feel and function. This website will keep you updated on what's happening with the master plan, and how you can get involved!

  • Assessment of Future Requirements 12/21/18 - 1/23/19 On-campus meetings
  • Concept Plan Development 1/23/19 - 4/19/19 (2) separate On-campus meetings - to be scheduled
  • Draft and Final Master Plan 4/19/19 - 6/28/19 (2) separate Steering Committee meetings with Sasaki - to be scheduled
  • Implementation 6/28/19 - 8/30/19
  • Final Integration / Report 8/30/19 - 9/20/19

Process

The campus master plan process is organized into three phases:

Phase 1:

Data Collection, Assessment & Reconnaissance

September - January

The planning team will focus on learning about the campus. Strategies include stakeholder interviews and surveys, review of current/previous planning documentation, and analysis of existing conditions on campus.

Phase 2:

02

Concept Plan Development & Evaluation

February - May

Working closely with the University, the team will identify principles and goals of the plan and develop alternatives that address the needs identified during Phase 1. The conclusion of Phase 2 will be the selection of the preferred alternative.

Phase 3:

03

Final Plan & Documentation

June - September

The planning team will further develop and finalize the preferred direction. The final master plan will integrate all topic elements into the long-term vision for GSU. Final documentation with accompanying implementation strategy will establish a clear direction for the University.
